The Ritual of the anointing of the sick and its pastoral assistance from a mystagogical Reading

Abstract
The Church in the light of the theological, pastoral and liturgical reflections that emerged from the Second Vatican Council promoted and carried out a great work of renovation of its liturgical books, from various commissions, formed for such endeavor. Among the renewed books we find the Ritual of the Anointing of the Sick and its Pastoral Assistance. In this book, we find not only a rite to be followed in the celebration of the anointing of a sick member of the community, but we are faced with the presence of a Liturgical Theology, which helps us to celebrate this moment of human existence which is the reality of the disease, in the light of the Paschal Mystery of Christ, which is renewed in the life and celebratory action of the Christian community. In order to get to know this ritual better, what we propose here is a mystagogical reading of it
